About

The mission of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation is to support all individuals healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and services regardless of financial status. Mission fulfillment is achieved through several assistance programs which ensure that underserved patients receive the post-surgical products they need and deserve. Our locations in Fremont at Washington Health West and San Leandro at Kaiser Permanente are welcoming spaces where our compassionate team provides outstanding assessment and fitting services and dispense products such as pocketed bras, breast prosthetics, compression garments to treat breast cancer-related lymphedema, and wigs. Our goal is provide "HERS" -- Hope, Empowerment, Renewal, and Support -- for every patient we serve.

Our Foundation is a DME (Durable Medical Equipment Provider) and is accredited by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics. In continuous operation since 1998, we strive to provide the best possible products and services for our patients.

Funding for our programs and services provided by generous donors, community-led fundraising efforts, grants, and two annual major fundraisers hosted by the Foundation: our spring People with Purpose gala and our fall 5k/10k Walk/Run event.
