Description

State Senator Dr. Aisha Wahab is the new Chair of the Business, Professions, and Economic Development Committee (BPED) in the California Senate. As chair, she leads the committee that reviews legislation affecting California’s economy, small businesses, professionals, and consumer protection. That includes bills on licensing, workforce issues, permitting, and economic opportunity.

She wants to connect with Fremont businesses to hear directly about their challenges and priorities. Front-line feedback helps her shape policy in a way that supports growth, reduces unnecessary barriers, and ensures that state law reflects what real businesses face in their communities. Hearing from local business owners helps inform the committee’s work on jobs, regulation, and economic health.
